TOPICS:

Congestion Pricing in the US - This presentation describes potential congestion pricing strategies being considered for introduction in Los Angeles County. Initial pilot projects include the conversion of existing HOV lanes to high-occupancy toll (HOT) lanes which will provide mobility benefits while generating revenues that may support additional transportation improvements.

HOV/HOT Lane Experience in the US - Managed lanes have historically taken the form of HOV lanes, but more recently pricing is being introduced to help better manage demand and traffic flow in these lanes. This presentation will discuss the current trends in managed lanes planning and development in the US.

Traveller Information Systems - QDMR Metropolitan Region has initiated the Intelligent Work Zone System (IWZS) project, which will provide a system that consists of a portable Variable Message Sign (VMS), portable radar sensors to detect vehicles, communications system, and remote monitoring and configuration through the internet. 

Congestion Management of Brisbane’s Road Network - Ian will discuss Council's Systems involved in Congestion Management of Brisbane's road network. This includes the Vision, Organisational and Functional Structure, Technology and Partnerships. How Council is structured, roles and responsibilities of the various units and Branches, Technology and metrics strategies, and Partnerships will be presented in a congestion management framework.

Transit Projects and Congestion in the Gold Coast Area - Gavin will be discussing transit lane projects in the Gold Coast area including the recently completed Smith Street Motorway transit lane project. Gavin will present the impact on traffic congestion after the opening of the Tugun Bypass
